Cornice installations?
No problem.
Top treatments and valances?
I could almost install them in my sleep.
I’ve been installing blinds, shades and shutters for over 30 years.Window coverings are my life and I enjoy this business. What I did not enjoy was installing stationary drape panels. I got to the point where I would rather be tied to my van and dragged forty miles by my tongue than to install any more drapes. No problem for most window coverings. But side drape panels took more time dressing, steaming ,pinning ,and since I was already on my knees, praying for the fabric to hang well enough to get the applause from the customer as well as the check.
Oh, and by the way , did I mention those wonderful callbacks? You know, the labor costing, gasoline guzzling, embarrassing invitation to spend an additional hour or two back to the house you were just at yesterday because the client thought that this time you might come up with a better idea for making her drapes hang nicer. Yeah lady, how about some fairy dust. Can you feel the love? I look at national home decor magazines all the time and constantly see drape panels that look so bad I want to throw up. Where do you find these customers who are willing to except this look, and can you send a few of them my way? If I ever hung drapes that looked that horrible I would get out of the window covering business. Knowing there was no way I could force the laws of physics to cease to exist in your home, I took a right turn down the road of invention. And the StayFold was born. Now I can get in and out of my jobs in less in half the time with NO callbacks. I give my customers the option of neat and tidy in seconds, or crappy looking forever. Now if the customer calls back I get paid. And hansomely I might add!
